Our entire family loves apples, and we can easily go through 5-10 in just one day. I scour the ads for sales to stock up. Sometimes, though, when a variety is on sale, I can't remember if that specific variety is good for eating, baking, or both.
I got an email with a link to this apple chart which lists about 30 common apple varieties, their texture (crisp, tender), and whether or not they are good for eating, baking, making pies, or saucing.
You can print out the chart and stick it on the fridge or with your cookbooks so you'll never have to wonder again what you can do with those apples.
