Today Is Grandparents Day!

grandparents.com(sm) a new generation of grandparents.
Happy Grandparents Day!

Don't forget to have your kids call Grandma and Grandpa today and say "I love you"!

Jimmy Carter declared the first Grandparents Day in 1978--and set it as the first Sunday after Labor Day each year.

Grandparents Day does not seem to be well-known or celebrated yet, but I think it is catching on--we, as parents, know how much grandparents add to our childrens' lives. They deserve some recognition!

If you want to celebrate Grandparents Day, check out www.grandparents.com. There are all sorts of great resources there--crafts, poems, coloring pages, quotes, and a downloadable guide "100 Things to do With Your Grandkids".

I just found out about it--so we didn't plan ahead. For all of you other procrastinators--let's mark our calendars now for next year! Grandparents Day next year will be on September 12.
