Advent Activities for Families from Holy Heroes

Advent is coming (double entendre there :) and Holy Heroes has a  free Advent Adventure program for Catholic families that you can sign up for.

 Every day during Advent we will send you an email with a link that takes you to that day’s activities. You’ll see short videos, listen to short audio selections, download coloring pictures, word searches and games, take quizzes to see what you’ve learned, and more.

We're always searching for ways to counter the secular hype of the season and reinforce the "real" meaning of Advent and Christmas with the kids, so we're looking forward to adding this.

Also--we were invited to a "Bless the Baby Jesus" party, in which everyone brings the baby Jesus from their Nativity Sets and is able to have them blessed by a priest, then enjoys fellowship and refreshments.

Although this is not a parish sponsored event for us, I think it would be a great idea to ask every pastor to do this.  It's fun, and again, it keeps the focus on what Christmas is REALLY about.
