If you've been reading for awhile, you know I love to cook. I love looking for new recipes, trying new recipes, trying to recreate dishes I've tasted elsewhere, and learning new cooking techniques.
For the past couple of years, I've been watching America's Test Kitchen on PBS and I subscribe to their free email newsletter (they also publish a magazine). America's Test Kitchen takes common or popular dishes, and finds the best way to prepare them so you get the best results. They also do product testing to see which kitchen items work the best and which food products taste the best.
Recipes from the current TV season are online on their site for free, as well as the product ratings, but past recipes/ratings are bound in a cookbook that is available for purchase.
So, if you love to cook, too, you might enjoy browsing through the website to see the current recipes, and to see how they have tweaked the "traditional" recipe to make it turn out better. Print out the ones you like while they are available for free because once the season is over, you'll have to buy them!
Also, if you have a great kitchen tip, send it to Cook's Country--the America's Test Kitchen sister magazine/show--and if they publish your tip, you will get a FREE one year subscription to Cook's Country magazine. I sent a tip lat year and was pleasantly surprised to get a free subscription! It just ended--I wonder if I can send in another tip to renew it!
